Eligibility

You must meet each of the following four (4) requirements below to be eligible for assistance. 

I am not currently enrolled in the regular Pre-Authorized program.
 
My property taxes are not paid by my financial institution.
 
I am not currently enrolled in the Low-Income Seniors or Low-Income People with Disabilities Tax Deferral Program.
 
I have not received compensation from Business Interruption Insurance towards the payment of property taxes.
 

Statement of Hardship



Please indicate the nature of the financial hardship you have experienced directly related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
 

Supportive Documentation

Please attach documentation in support of your application.

Examples of acceptable supportive documentation may include:

  • notice of business closure
  • notice of layoff
  • notice of temporary suspension
  • letter from employer confirming hours or pay had been reduced
  • forced closure notice

Repayment Options

Customize which month you want the withdrawals to begin; available starting months are March through June 2021, with all options ending with a final withdrawal date of December 15 2021.  Interest will not be charged on the amount deferred.

The monthly withdrawal amount for your repayment will be calculated once your application is reviewed. The amount will be based on an estimate of the full 2021 tax year levy, plus the balance outstanding from  previous billings, plus any penalty/interest charged (if applicable).  This combined figure is divided by the number of months chosen by the ratepayer,  ending December 15, 2021.

As the 2021 tax levy may be estimated at the time of enrollment, the final monthly withdrawal amount in December will be adjusted to account for either rounding and/or adjustment of the estimate to actual.

  • I understand that property owners with tenants who do not pass on the deferral may be deemed ineligible, the deferral may be revoked, and all taxes, penalty and interest may be payable immediately.
