Thank you for applying for a Town of Milton Consumer Fireworks Discharge Permit.

All applicants for a Consumer Fireworks Discharge Permit are responsible for reading the Town of Milton Fireworks By-law 37-2009 and for adhering to the regulations contained in the by-law.

Note:

Setting off fireworks is not permitted on any Town of Milton roadway or street, public park, school, arena, etc. People found in contravention will be fined $150.00 plus the cost of fire department vehicle(s) attending the location.

Please indicate your intention to conform to the following fireworks discharge conditions by reading each item and checking the box beside the item:

an open area away from buildings, vehicles, overhead obstructions, and dry brush/grass.

a minimum clear area of 30m by 30m for aerial family fireworks and a minimum clear area of 20m by 20m ground based family fireworks.

an area that is not on a Town of Milton roadway, street, public park, school, arena, etc.

fully operational fire extinguishing equipment ready and accessible at all times when family fireworks are being discharged and for a reasonable period after they are finished being discharged.

a hard, flat, level surface for ground based Consumer fireworks to ensure stability if the item.

a means to bury aerial Consumer fireworks to half their length in the ground or other means.

a means to keep all spectators at least 20 m away.

before discharging the fireworks, the responsible person will read the instructions, cautions and warnings on each Consumer fireworks item, light only one firework at a time, wear proper eye protection and clothing, keep children away from fireworks, use care when handling and firing fireworks and clean up after the display.
